ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — If you’re looking for a job in law enforcement, 2025 could be your opportunity. Agencies across the Triad are actively hiring, hoping to fill a wave of vacancies that have lingered since the pandemic.
Vacancies in police and sheriff’s departments have remained high in the years following COVID-19. But now, for the first time in a while, some agencies say they’re starting to see a turnaround.
“Every agency was kind of feeling the pinch of large vacancies,” said Corporal Josh Gentile with the Winston-Salem Police Department. “Through solid recruitment strategies and the incentives we offer—particularly here in Winston-Salem—we’ve seen a big uptick in the number of people saying, ‘Yes, I want to be a police officer.’”…
