For the first time since June 21, temperatures dropped into the 60s overnight at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. This made it the end of the longest stretch of days at or above 70 degrees (31) since 1934.
Unfortunately, the heat and humidity will continue to slowly return as we approach the weekend. We won’t be as cool tonight as we were last night with low temperatures in just the lower 70s for most of the area.
A warmer day is expected Thursday with highs in the lower 90s that feel like the middle 90s with more humidity. A few stray showers are possible in the afternoon and evening with rain tapering off after sunset…
