Food pantries struggle after SNAP cuts

RALEIGH, N.C. — After recent federal funding cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), food pantries across the state are facing a critical shortage. The Catholic Parish Outreach Food Pantry staff said they’re working to keep shelves stocked but have seen an increase in families needing help.

It’s a constant sound at Catholic Parish Outreach Food Pantry as volunteers tear open boxes and work to pack the carts to deliver food to guests.
