Orange County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Construction Material Thieves, Asks Public to Identify

Robberies of a construction site in northern Orange County — and footage of one robbery in action — led the sheriff’s office to ask the public for help on Tuesday.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office posted photos on its social media pages of a pair of suspects who investigators believe stole building materials from a construction site in the 7400 block of McKee Road in Rougemont, which is an unincorporated community. The alert asked community members if they recognized either person or the side-by-side vehicle they used to haul away stolen goods from the site. Investigators added that the suspects are believed to have stolen materials “at least twice” from the site, with the trail camera footage showing a timestamp of Saturday, August 2 at 1:50 a.m.

The black and white photos appear to show a man and woman, neither of whom are wearing masks. The man’s hair is buzzed short, while the woman has her hair tied back in a ponytail. Both are wearing shorts and t-shirts, with the woman wearing Crocs while the man is wearing boots…
