Durham Rescue Mission donates 700+ backpacks to western NC students

JEFFERSON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Ashe County Schools received a timely donation from across the state.

On Tuesday, the Ashe County Board of Education landed 750 backpacks full of school supplies from the Durham Rescue Mission. The organization typically offers a solution to homelessness and addiction in the Triangle area that goes beyond just meeting basic needs.
