RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Gina DeBose, a teacher at Wake County Public Schools and the mother of Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose, has died.
The younger DeBose announced the passing of her mother in an Instagram post on Tuesday. She said her mother died that morning from complications with stage 3 ovarian cancer at the age of 57.
In the post, Ariana referred to Gina as her “favorite person”, “biggest fan”, “toughest critic”, and “best friend”, while praising her for her cancer battle over the past three years…
