September in Duke Arts Create

Duke Arts Create – a series of free workshops open to Duke undergraduates, graduate and professional students, faculty and staff — starts off the school year with 14 events throughout September.

The week of Aug. 31 to Sept. 6 sees events that will teach the Duke community how to paint the Duke Chapel in watercolor and sculpt with polymer clay. Adrienne Oats, a local artist, will lead the painting workshop at 5:15 p.m. in the Trent Semans Center for Health Education on Sept. 2. Those that want to work with clay can meet local visual artist Sean Graham in the Arts Annex on Sept. 3 at 6 p.m.

The week of Sept. 7 to 13 offers opportunities to work with your heart, eyes and hands. With photography, collage and cornhusk doll-making workshops, Blue Devils have the chance to expand their artistic repertoire…
