Bragtown Branch Library in Durham County to Extend Monday Service Hours

Starting next week, the Bragtown Branch of the Durham County Library is set to change its opening hours, adding more time for patrons to browse, read, and utilize library services on Mondays. The new schedule, commencing Monday will see doors opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., as notified by Durham County officials. This expansion of operational hours aligns the library’s Monday schedule with the rest of the workweek; a move that underscores the branch’s dedication to its community role.

Historically carved out in 1962 from the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library, the Bragtown library has seen its service area morph from rural stretches to a more urban community. Even with this evolution, the library remains “an important fixture in the community,” according to Bragtown Branch Library location manager Felicia Brown. In a statement obtained by Durham County officials, Brown emphasizes, “Opening for additional hours on Monday mornings will mean greater access to the resources and services the Bragtown community needs to thrive.”
