Ongoing drug investigation results in two arrests

A month-long Hillsborough Police Department investigation has resulted in the arrest of two Hillsborough men and the seizure of illegal narcotics, firearms and drug manufacturing equipment.

Hillsborough police officers, in collaboration with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant this morning in the 100 block of Foust Street in Hillsborough.

During the search, investigators recovered:

  • Two firearms — one was confirmed stolen.
  • About 1.5 pounds of marijuana
  • 20 grams of crack cocaine and powder cocaine
  • 0.9 grams of fentanyl
  • U.S. currency
  • Equipment used in the manufacturing and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Jarrod Royster, 38, of Hillsborough was charged with:

  • Two counts of selling illegal narcotics within 1,000 feet of a school.
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon.
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance.
  • Possession of a stolen firearm.
  • Maintaining a dwelling to sell controlled substances.

Royster is being held without bond at the Orange County Detention Center…
