In Durham, North Carolina, the Ladder 3 crew at the Durham Fire Department rescued two dogs from a house fire late last week. One of the dogs, named Lexi, required oxygen treatment at the scene, and thanks to the efforts of the fire rescuers, the dog pulled through.
Photos from the scene showed flames and heavy smoke pushing through the roof of the house as firefighters surrounded the blaze with ladders and hoses.
The fire was able to be brought under control in 20 minutes; one man and two dogs were brought to safety.
After Lexi was treated, she seemed to bounce back, and the crew from the fire department decided to be her foster parents until she could be adopted. Lexi’s owner remains in critical condition after the fire…
