HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — A month-long investigation led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and drug manufacturing equipment near an elementary school in Hillsborough, officials said.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Hillsborough police executed a search warrant Friday morning at a home on the 100 block of Foust Street.
Drugs and Weapons Seized
Officials reported confiscating:
- About 1.5 pounds of marijuana
- 20 grams of crack and powder cocaine
- 0.9 grams of fentanyl
- Two firearms, including one stolen
- Equipment used to manufacture and distribute drugs
- Cash
Suspects and Charges
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jarrod Royster and Arnold Poteat, both Hillsborough residents. Authorities said the men were selling drugs less than a block from Central Elementary School.
Jarrod Royster faces:
- Two counts of selling illegal narcotics within 1,000 feet of a school
- Possession of a firearm by a felon
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver Schedule II and VI controlled substances
- Possession of a stolen firearm
- Maintaining a dwelling for drug activity
Royster is being held without bond in Orange County custody…
