Wake County Public Libraries are hosting more than 25 events for National Hispanic Heritage Month. According to Wake County’s announcement, the programs include author discussions, art exhibitions, cooking sessions, and crafting workshops to highlight Hispanic heritage. The events run from Monday next week through October 15.
County Commissioner Tara Waters emphasized the importance of recognizing the history and contributions of Hispanic communities. Libraries have also set up special book displays featuring Hispanic authors during the month-long celebration.
Featured events include My Mexican Mesa, y Listo! by Jenny Martinez at Northeast Regional Library and the Craft It: Loteria Flower Pots workshop for adults at the Richard B. Harrison Community Library.
