Duke’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute receives $69 million NIH grant

Amid uncertainty surrounding federal research funding, Duke’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) secured a $69 million seven-year grant from the National Institutes of Health.

The grant will support “trustworthy partnerships to improve health through translational science,” the CTSI wrote in its Aug. 29 announcement of the award.

Susanna Naggie, director of the CTSI and vice dean of clinical research at the School of Medicine, is the principal investigator for the grant. She described the renewal process as similar to previous application cycles, but more stressful due to continued NIH communication delays…
