One person dead, one arrested following vehicle crash in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A 16-year-old boy was killed and two other teenagers were injured in a crash late Sunday night along U.S. Highway 64, according to Apex police.

Officers responded around 10:30 p.m. to the eastbound lanes near Knollwood Drive. Police said a white Chevrolet Malibu was speeding when it went off the road, became airborne and rolled several times.

A 16-year-old passenger in the backseat was partially ejected and died at the scene. The 17-year-old driver and a second passenger, also 16, who was riding in the front seat, were taken to a hospital with injuries…
