Traditional and contemporary American music was the star of the show Saturday at the Creedmoor music festival — but festival food, crafts, games, face-painting and classic cars all played a strong supporting role as people from Granville County beyond gathered on the streets of downtown Creedmoor. Grace Lucia of Wake Forest kept listeners spellbound with just her voice and guitar and she sang covers of well-known songs and a number of original compositions. “I write about my life, and the world and how I feel about it,” she said in an interview after she finished her set. She said she writes a lot of songs about growing up, and about love and break-ups. Lucia said she lives with a couple of chronic medical conditions and writes about that as well. Lucia, who sings profesionally and also teaches guitar and voice at Bella Music in downtown Wake Forest, said she performs 3-4 days a week.
