State Senate passes bill with stricter criminal laws following deadly stabbing in Charlotte

RALEIGH, N.C. (WECT) – Legislators in Raleigh on Monday passed House Bill 307, which would bring tougher criminal laws to North Carolina.

The bill was made public after a fatal stabbing last month in Charlotte of 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska on a light rail train.
