Durham Tech instructor in death by distribution case arrested on new drug charges, warrant shows

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — An instructor at Durham Technical Community College indicted earlier this year in a deadly overdose in Chapel Hill was arrested Wednesday on new drug charges in Raleigh, a warrant shows.

According to a warrant filed by the Raleigh Police Department, 40-year-old Aaron Donald Brooks of Durham is accused of selling about 53 grams of methamphetamine to an unknown individual on Wednesday, along with possessing about 22 grams of cocaine.

Brooks is charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, trafficking in methamphetamine, possessing drug paraphernalia, and possessing marijuana paraphernalia in the Raleigh incident, according to the warrant…
