CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — Chapel Hill Police are moving into their new high-tech headquarters with a focus on health, leadership, and the community.
The 40,000 square feet warehouse was transformed into a customized police department that also houses the Office of Emergency Preparedness Risk Management and the town’s IT department.
“When we found it, it was just an empty warehouse shell,” Chapel Hill Police Chief Celisa Lehew said. “We had to do the blueprint of all the walls and all the spaces. We really make our decisions based around our priorities and this building was created out of that.”…
