DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — The neighborhood dubbed the Warehouse District, where most Durhamites go to wind down after working downtown, has added another eatery from a popular pizza chain.
Timber Pizza Co. announced this week that it will open its first location in Durham at the new Wye Junction development on Corporation and Washington Street. The company said the 2,000-square-foot restaurant will sit in the historic Durham City Garage.
The pizzas at Timber are prepared Neapolitan-style over a wood fire. The setup of the menu and restaurant has an energy as playful as the neighborhood. In addition to pizza, Timber serves empanadas and salads.
“What sets Timber apart isn’t just the pizza; it’s the energy,” said Kathleen Sears, co-owner of Durham’s Timber Pizza Co. “Every location has a little of that ‘90s summer camp meets neighborhood hangout feel — from the cozy bar setup to the playlist spinning in the background. And with a location like Wye Junction, we’re building a space that reflects that downtown Durham warmth and community from the moment you walk in.”…
