Threatening letter, powdery substance mailed to Durham Police Chief Patrice Andrews

An investigation is underway after a suspicious letter was sent to Durham Police Chief Patrice Andrews on Tuesday morning.

The Durham Police Department told ABC11 that a letter sent to the police chief around 7:15 a.m. contained a threatening message and a powdery substance.

The letter was opened in the chief’s office suite, DPD said. The Durham Fire Department tested the substance and ruled it did not contain any known harmful substances…
