Durham Police Department Invites Residents to Celebrate National Night Out 2025

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department (DPD) is inviting residents, businesses, and community groups to join the citywide celebration of National Night Out (NNO) 2025 on Tuesday, October 7. The annual event encourages neighborhoods to connect with one another and strengthen partnerships with law enforcement and public safety partners in an effort to reduce crime and build trust.

This year, 52 neighborhoods across Durham have registered to host block parties, cookouts, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities, and anti-crime initiatives. A full list of participating communities is available on the DPD National Night Out webpage.

National Night Out is a timely reminder to reflect on the partnerships our police department has built with the community,” said a DPD spokesperson. “As our officers visit celebrations across Durham, we’re reminded that what makes our city a great place to live, work, and play is the collaboration with each of you.”
