Raleigh Crash Closes US 1 Ramp to I-540 After Pickup Truck Flips Over

RALEIGH, N.C. — A pickup truck landed on its roof during a Sunday morning crash that temporarily shut down part of a busy Raleigh interchange, authorities said.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the crash occurred just after 11:20 a.m. on the U.S. 1/Capital Boulevard ramp to Interstate 540 eastbound. The collision involved a pickup truck and a Jeep, and the impact caused the truck to overturn onto its roof.

Emergency crews responded quickly, closing the ramp while they worked to clear debris and assess the scene. Two northbound lanes of U.S. 1 were also temporarily shut down, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).

No Serious Injuries Reported

Police confirmed that no one suffered serious injuries in the crash. Both drivers were evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

Tow trucks arrived shortly after noon to remove the damaged vehicles, and traffic began moving again once the roadway was cleared.

Ramp Reopened Within an Hour
