Durham County announced plans to conduct ultra-low-volume mosquito-control spraying across neighborhoods near East Campus Monday night to combat the spread of West Nile virus.
The operation, carried out by a fogging truck, targets the Trinity Park neighborhood and areas within a one-mile radius. Spraying will not occur directly on East Campus, and no disruption to normal University operations is expected, per a Monday afternoon email from Matthew Stiegel, director of Duke’s Occupational and Environmental Safety Office.
The application is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Monday and end by 3 a.m. Tuesday…
