Witness says he saw victim hours before her death

The new man in the last days of Felicia Stokes’ life testified Monday that he would have liked to further develop his relationship with her. Darryl Jones of Durham spent the morning on the stand in the fifth day of testimony in the murder trial of Thomas William Stokes Jr., 62, of Wilson.

The trial, which started Oct. 6, is now in its second week of testimony in Wilson County Criminal Superior Court.
