On Sunday, October 26, hundreds of runners will take part in the annual RDC Marathon. The race features a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K in support of the Team Drea Foundation.
The foundation was created by Andrea Peet, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2014 at the age of 33. Despite the disease’s typical 2 to 5 year prognosis, Peet has continued to defy the odds, even becoming the first person with ALS to complete a marathon in all 50 states. Participants and spectators can expect to see her on the course this year, riding her signature green trike.
The RDC Marathon is a USATF-certified, Boston Qualifier course that winds along the American Tobacco Trail with its start and finish at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham. The marathon and half marathon begin at 7:10 a.m., followed by the 10K and 5K at 7:45 a.m…
