On Saturday, North Carolina lost its fourth game in a row in a 17-16 nailbiter to No. 16 Virginia in front of 50,500 fans at Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill.
Head coach Bill Belichick’s Tar Heels had a chance to pull off the upset in overtime, but a failed two-point conversion dropped UNC to 2-5. Belichick and the Tar Heels have faced scrutiny this season for a poor start. However, Belichick has said he remains committed to turning things around at North Carolina. UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham released a statement on Oct. 8 claiming that Belichick has the “full support” of the school.

Since Cunningham’s statement, North Carolina has lost 21-18 to California and then dropped Saturday’s game to Virginia.
