The 2025 Durham mayoral race is reaching its peak as Anjanee Bell, daughter of Durham’s longest-serving mayor, challenges incumbent Leonardo Williams. Bell’s campaign, “Durham is H.O.P.E.,” contrasts sharply with Williams’ “Durham is Dope” slogan. The Chronicle spoke with Bell to learn more about her motivations, priorities and vision for the city.
