Creedmoor Board approves annexation, rezoning for Cedar Creek development

At the Nov. 5 Creedmoor Board of Commissioners meeting, the board approved a land annexation and zoning ordinance for the Cedar Creek residential development, further paving the way for its construction.

The 243-acre Cedar Creek development is still in its planning phases, but is set to add 650 homes to Creedmoor and increase the city’s population by 32% over the course of the build. “This is a large project, probably the largest project in the city’s history,” Community Development Planner Dallas Baker said.

The developer—a Durham-based company called Gander Developments—was requesting its property be annexed to the city, so every road leading to the property could be maintained by the city of Creedmoor, rather than being partially maintained by the city and partially by the N.C.
