‘We’re feeling unsafe’: Durham city officials call on community for support after Border Patrol raids

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Durham’s top officials are thanking the community for their efforts to help amid the presence of federal Border Patrol agents.

On Thursday, the city council met for the first time since several people living and working in Durham were detained by agents two days ago.

Two days earlier on Tuesday, many people were blowing their whistles and honking their horns to alert neighbors. A large group of community members followed the agents from location to location as they drove across different parts of the city…
