4 hurt after car crashes into utility pole in North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – A late-night crash in Chapel Hill sent four people to the hospital on Monday, along with knocking out power for several homes in the surrounding area.

In a news release, town officials said a driver slammed into a utility pole just after 10 p.m. Monday on Weaver Dairy Road Extension between Palafox Drive and Rowe Road.

The driver and three passengers were taken to a nearby hospital, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening, officials said…
