Tar Heels move up in AP men’s poll for their highest ranking in a year

North Carolina moved up two spots in the AP Top 25 men’s poll to No. 16 on Monday after beating Navy in its only game last week.

The Tar Heels (5–0), who beat the Midshipmen 73–61 on Tuesday, are ranked the highest since they were No. 12 nearly one year ago on Nov. 25.

The competition ramps up for UNC this week in Florida at the Fort Myers Tip-Off, where the Tar Heels will face two 5–0 teams: St. Bonaventure at 6 p.m. Tuesday (FS1) and No. 11 Michigan State at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (Fox). Get a preview of the St. Bonaventure game here…
