The spirit of community shone through in Durham, NC, as over a thousand volunteers rolled up their sleeves to spruce up the city during this year’s Big Sweep. The clean-up initiative saw residents dedicating a combined 2,285 hours to rid the streets, parks, and public spaces of exactly 13,448 pounds of trash, transforming Durham into a cleaner, greener environment for all its citizens. The effort was announced in a social media post from the City of Durham, NC Government.
