RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Youth Ambassadors of Service is a nonprofit that teaches high school students the importance of volunteerism.
“I was a sophomore in high school when COVID hit, and I saw this need in my community. Homelessness was on the rise, and food insecurity was what we saw in our local area,” said Youth Ambassadors of Service Executive Director Sonali Ratnasinghe.
So, Sonali started the organization in 2020. She says they have impacted around 2,000 students since its inception, aiming to reach over 1,000 this year.
