This series of posts will be made weekly on Chapelboro to help inform our community about local government meetings. All meeting days, locations and times may be subject to change. Check town, county, and school district websites for additional information.
This week is a lighter one in local government, marked primarily by newly elected board members taking their oaths of office. There are several key agenda items beyond that, though: Orange County Commissioners will hear the latest data on homelessness; the Pittsboro town board will look ahead to next year’s budget talks; and the Durham City Council will examine a property on West Chapel Hill Street downtown, where economic obstacles have stalled a planned redevelopment.
Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.
Orange County
Orange County Commissioners meet Monday, December 1, at 7 p.m. in the Whitted Building. Commissioners will receive an annual report from the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness and assign each other to county boards and commissions for the coming year. Get the full agenda at this link…
