Durham County Commissioners Announce Upcoming Events, Assistance Programs, and Community Initiatives at December Meeting

On December 8, 2025, the Durham Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) held a regular session at the BOCC Chambers at 200 E. Main Street in Durham, North Carolina. Chair Dr. Mike Lee led the meeting. Commissioner Valentine recited the Pledge of Allegiance. The agenda proceeded as planned. Monica Wallace, Clerk to the Board, shared community announcements with attendees in person and online.

The Board announced the 2025 Innovate Durham Demo Day, set for December 11 at American Underground. Local entrepreneurs, including Novexa and Financial Boss, will present their projects. The Board also promoted the Farmers and Landowners Breakfast on December 18. Andrew Branan will discuss farm law, liability, and trespassing at the Farm Bureau office on Hillandale Road.

Commissioners encouraged participation in the Welcome Baby 13th Annual Winter Coat Drive, which runs through January 9, 2026. The drive collects new and gently used winter clothing for children. Donations can be made at 721 Foster Street and other locations. Residents were also reminded that partial payments for 2025 property tax bills are accepted until January 5, 2026.
