NORMAN, Okla. — The Duke wrestling nationally-ranked tandem of Connor Barket and Aidan Wallace both went undefeated, 3-0, Sunday at the Normal Duals, which took place at McCasland Field House in Norman.
As a team, Duke dropped a 36-7 decision to SIU Edwardsville and then collected a 30-24 win against Tarleton State. The Blue Devils closed the afternoon with a 40-6 loss to Oklahoma.
HOW IT HAPPENED – DUKE VS. SIU EDWARDSVILLE
- Duke got on the board at 174 pounds as Aidan Wallace collected a 9-2 decision over Dominic Lopez.
- The Blue Devils also totaled a 12-1 major decision victory at heavyweight as Connor Barket defeated Bryson Buhk.
HOW IT HAPPENED – DUKE VS. TARLETON STATE
- Redshirt junior Spencer von Savoye opened the action with a pin against Noah Clayton to give Duke a 6-0 advantage in the 125-pound match. It marked Von Savoye’s first win of the season and third of his Duke career.
- Raymond Adams picked up a 2-1 decision at 141 pounds to give Duke a 9-6 advantage and then Dylan Ross extended the Blue Devil lead to 14-6 with a tech fall win, 16-0, against Caleb Jurez at 149 pounds.
- Duke was forced to forfeit bouts at 157 and 165 pounds to give Tarleton State an 18-14 lead.
- Redshirt sophomore Aidan Wallace pinned Zeke Liescheski at 174 pounds as Duke regained the lead for good at 20-18.
- Duke junior David Hussey collected a major decision victory, 8-0, against Cooper Lock as Duke led 24-18.
- After the Blue Devils forfeited at 197 pounds, Connor Barket collected a win with a pin over Jackson Phillips to give Duke a 30-24 victory. The win by Barket was the 50th of his career.
HOW IT HAPPENED – DUKE VS. OKLAHOMA
- Aidan Wallace closed his action Sunday with a 6-0 decision win against Clay Giddens to finish the day with a 3-0 ledger.
- In the final bout of the day, Duke’s Connor Barket opened with a 3-1 lead after a takedown against Bradley Hill in the first period. Hill registered an escape in the second period for the only scoring. Leading 3-2 heading into the final period, Barket collected an escape to go ahead, 4-2, early. Hill added a point for stalling by Barket late, but Barket registered the 4-3 win.

- With his three wins Sunday, Aidan Wallace moved to 14-1 on the season and has won eight matches in a row. He has a 37-14 ledger over his career.
- Connor Barket moved to 12-1 on the season and 52-31 on his career.
- Raymond Adams totaled his sixth win of the season and 18th of his career.
- Dylan Ross collected his sixth victory of the season and ninth of her career.
- Against Tarleton State, David Hussey posted his third win of the year and seventh of his three-year career.
