Winter storm causes widespread flight delays at RDU, affecting holiday travel

Major travel disruptions continued across the United States as a powerful winter storm moved east, causing flight delays and cancellations that rippled through airports during the busy post-holiday travel period.

At Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), delays continued to climb throughout the day. According to flight-tracking website FlightAware, by 6:45 pm, more than 100 flights arriving at or departing from RDU were delayed, and at least eight flights were canceled.
