CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — For the second year in a row, Duke wrestling standout Aidan Wallace placed third at the Southern Scuffle as he posted a 6-1 ledger over the weekend at McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga.
Wallace, a native of Mahwah, New Jersey, won his first four matches to reach the semifinals of the scuffle. After dropping the semifinal match to Penn State’s Will Henckel (8-3 decision), Wallace collected a victory with a 7-6 decision against Hudson Rogers of Utah Valley to advance to the third-place match. Wallace, who is ranked No. 22 nationally, was impressive to close the event with a 14-1 major decision against Max Magayna to finish third in the 174-pound class.
