Contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Alcami announced its purchase of a third facility in North Carolina’s RTP, a prominent US-based hub for biotechnology innovation. The two-story $6.7 million facility has over 37,000 square feet of space.
“By increasing its presence in the Research Triangle Park, Alcami enhances its ability to support a significant number of biologic programs in parallel across development stages,” commented a spokesperson for Alcami to BioProcess Insider.
“Key enhancements include advanced molecular biology and bioanalytical workflows,” said the spokesperson. “[This includes] multi-room PCR for residual DNA and mycoplasma testing, AAV [adeno-associated virus] titer determination using a ddPCR [droplet digital polymerase chain reaction] platform, and expanded large-molecule characterization capabilities using techniques including differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), circular dichroism, and multi-angle light scattering (MALS).”…
