(WPDE) — Kennedy Jones, a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, had her college scholarship reinstated following the Lumbee Tribe’s full federal recognition in December.
Jones, majoring in biology and Native American studies, initially lost her scholarship in August when the tribe was not federally recognized.
