The Duke Blue Devils and North Carolina Tar Heels are set to renew college basketball’s most heated rivalry Saturday night at the Dean Smith Center. ESPN’s “College GameDay” rolled into Chapel Hill for the special occasion, with the crew making their picks in front of a packed, divided crowd ahead of the 6:30 p.m. ET tipoff.
But during the pregame discussion, Duke legend Jay Williams literally poured gasoline on the fire by making the “Tar Heel chant” on live television, leaving Blue Devils fans absolutely off-guard.
Williams spent three years at Duke building a decorated résumé.
