After 7 shootings in 7 days, city leaders take on gun violence crisis

Durham has seen seven shootings in the last seven days. At least three were fatal. Most involved individuals under the age of 18.

During Monday’s city council meeting, council members used their opening statements to condemn the recent violence and discuss paths forward — and now, the mayor is planning to implement a task force this week to address the crisis.
