Procession honors fallen Highway Patrol Trooper Steven Perry

A solemn procession made its way through Durham today as law enforcement officers escorted the body of fallen North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Steven Perry.

Chopper 11 captured the emotional tribute from above as Trooper Perry’s remains were transported from Fisher Memorial Funeral Parlor in Durham to Mitchell Funeral Home in Raleigh. Officers lined the route, standing in silent honor as the procession passed.

Trooper Perry, 30, was killed Sunday when a wrong-way driver collided headon with his patrol car on the Durham Freeway. The crash sparked an outpouring of grief from the community and from colleagues across the state…
