The Town of Hillsborough is encouraging residents to take part in No Mow March, a program that supports native pollinators by delaying or reducing lawn mowing and planting native species. The initiative helps bees and other insects thrive early in the year.
Members of the town’s Tree Board, including Greg Yavelak and Linda Paynter, shared their experiences with the program. They recommend reducing mowing, leaving some leaves and stems in place, and replacing turf with native plants.
