DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — The family of a Durham teacher and her husband, who died in a car crash, said it has been a hard couple of weeks. Carla and Andre Boynton werekilled while taking a Lyft in Detroit, Mich.in late February.
The couple had five children and were soon to be grandparents of three. Their youngest daughter Alima Shah and her sister are both pregnant.

“Just to not have them here to experience their grandchildren, it feels like we’ve been stripped away from something that everyone is deserving of,” said Shah.
