‘He thought she was someone else and he attacked her!’: 911 calls released in Orange County housekeeper’s deadly stabbing

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Newly released 911 calls in the deadly stabbing of an Orange County housekeeper last week provide new details about the suspect and what may have led to the incident.

Matthew Jared Vukmer, 53, is charged with first-degree murder after 54-year-old Paula Floyd was stabbed to death inside his Hillsborough home the morning of March 6, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

At the time of the incident, according to officials, Floyd worked for Vukmer as a housekeeper.
