Triangle school districts close in advance of potential storms

Public schools in Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston and Chatham counties will be closed Monday in advance of what the National Weather Service says is a “moderate risk” of storms expected to bring high winds and possible tornadoes.

The school districts made the announcement early Sunday evening.

“No make-up day will be required,” a Wake County news release said. “All calendars will use banked time. Tomorrow will be a teacher workday for staff.”…
