Buccaneer Men Run Strong Times in Distance Events at Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – Charleston Southern raced at the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday. There were four times that broke into the all-time top ten in the school record books in the distance events.

In the men’s 1500m, the Bucs had a trio of top performers in the race. Collin Kleinhen had a big personal best for a time of 3:48.47 at the race for the fastest of the Bucs’ entrees. Micah Gilpatric recorded a 3:48.49 and Martin Iriondo had a 3:48.55 which marked a career best for him as well. C. Kleinhen’s and Iriondo’s times rank as the eighth and ninth fastest in school history. Also in the race were Mason Raasch (3:54.70), Kaden Kleinhen (3:55.94) and Jackson Lovvorn (3:56.89).

Caleb Kenyon made his career debut in the 3K steeplechase at the meet and claimed ninth overall in the field. His time of 9:06.64 ranks as the sixth-fastest in school history. Jones Barber also raced in it and had a 9:32.75…
