Durham residents turn to community gardening to save money as produce prices climb

At the Briggs Avenue Community Garden, growing your own food is becoming more than just a hobby; it’s a way to save money.

“And then to get the baby out … what we do is loosen up the roots,” said master gardener Claudia Hines, demonstrating how to properly plant tomatoes.
