North Carolina mother, anti-gun violence advocate, killed in shooting while looking out window

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman died after an early morning shooting on Monday at a Durham apartment complex, police said.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded around 1:53 a.m. to a reported shooting in the 2800 block of Rochelle Street at Rochelle Manor Apartments.

When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. She was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she was later pronounced dead.
